The first pair of headphones was invented by Nathaniel Baldwin in 1910. It wasn’t until the late 70s, however, that they became popular.
Fast forward to 2020 and they’ve become ubiquitous as millions of individuals tune in to music on their mobile devices.
There’s more than one type to choose from as well. For example, there are in-ear headphones, Bluetooth headphones, and noise-celling headphones.
Earbuds are another option. If anything, more and more people are choosing them over headphones due to their portability.
Thinking of getting some? Not sure which is better—Galaxy Buds vs AirPods? If so, you’re on the right page! We’ll be comparing the two products below. Keep reading to learn more!
What Are Galaxy Buds?
Samsung Galaxy Buds are wireless earbuds that you can use for making calls or streaming music. Released in 2019, they can be used with almost any Bluetooth device whether it be an iPhone or Mac.
Currently, there are two models available—the Galaxy Buds and Galaxy Buds Plus, the latter of which has better battery life (approx. 11 hours as opposed to around 6.5 hours).
What Are AirPods?
AirPods are wireless Bluetooth earbuds that are manufactured by Apple. In addition to playing audio, they come with a built-in microphone, which you can use for phone calls.
If anything, they resemble Apple’s EarPods from older devices except without the cables.
Galaxy Buds vs Airpods: Pros and Cons
Galaxy Buds and Airpods have their own advantages and disadvantages, which you can read more about in this post. In the meantime, here’s what you need to know.
Samsung Galaxy Buds
Galaxy Buds are small and comfortable. Once you put them in, you won’t even remember that they’re there.
Not only that, but the silicone tips are very grippy. In other words, you won’t have to worry about them falling out of your ears. Not only that, but the touch controls are very easy to use.
Having said that, they do have their drawbacks. For one thing, you can’t see the charging base battery percentage. The microphone is also not as good as that of the AirPods (i.e. they tend to pick up more wind).
Apple Airpods
Apple AirPods have amazing sound quality; the sound is clear and the bass is powerful without being overpowering.
Comfort-wise, they’re great as well. They won’t make your ears ache nor will they fall off. Last but not least, they’re super easy to use, especially if you have an iPhone.
That’s not to say that they don’t have cons, though. For starters, it’s almost impossible to use AirPods with one hand. There aren’t any controls on them either, which makes it difficult to pause a song or change the volume.
Getting the Right Earbuds
And there you have it—a short Galaxy Buds vs Airpods comparison. As you can see, they both have their pros and cons. At the end of the day, it all boils down to what you prefer!
