The internet giant Google buys Motorola Mobility (the mobile department of Motorola) for $12.5 billion. In the official Google blog, the CEO of Google Larry Page stated “I look forward to welcoming Motorolans to our family of Googlers.”

Motorola took a chance and embraced Google operating system Android. The mobile phones gained great success and smartphones like Motorola Droid offered a considerable competition in the smartphones arena among others popular devices that runs Google’s operating system.

Motorola Mobility began trading as a separate department in the stock market only in last January. That made the acquisition much more possible by letting Google acquire only what the company’s really intended and become one of the most interesting mobile manufactures we will have (at least for now).

Google Expanding Outside Of The Web

Although most of Google’s revenue comes from its search engine, the company known for trying to break to other markets (like the social networking industry with Google+) but until now it didn’t made such a move for a being a significant manufacturer of physical products.

What is pretty clear right now, is that the mobile industry is raging and we should definitely give it more attention with our online business.
